EC&I Engineer

Altera Recruitment Group is looking to appoint an EC&I Engineer. The role of an EC&I Engineer is suited to a skilled professional with strong electrical, control, and instrumentation expertise who thrives in a dynamic operations environment. The EC&I Engineer will support maintenance, fault diagnosis, and optimisation initiatives, working collaboratively across teams to ensure asset reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input into plant maintenance, development projects, and system enhancements.
  • Oversee safe working practices, including contractor supervision and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities to enhance operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records through the company’s CMMS system.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and maintenance teams to drive efficient fault finding, problem solving, and system improvements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised engineering qualification in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (HNC, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in power generation, energy-from-waste, or a related industrial sector.
  • Solid understanding of E,C&I systems, including VSDs, instrumentation, and distribution equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, with experience of working under permit-to-work systems.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms (experience with MAXIMO or similar is advantageous).
